Why did you join a Finnish small and medium sized company instead of working for a large international corporation?
“SabriScan is a well-grown company which provides me very good opportunities to perform and contribute with my extensive experience and knowledge. I appreciate a lot the space to be creative and chance to learn from the experts in the mold industry. It probably does not sound related to my profession, but I will never say no to any learning opportunities.” Where are you based? “I oversee the China investment project but work closely with our global operation team. Basically, I am based in Finland but the job requires business trips in high frequency, so I will start traveling between Finland and China when the process starts in China. My mainly focus is in Chinese market, but I am willing and able to take more responsibilities for the projects in other countries too if offered.” What is the company planning in China? “SabriScan is planning to set up own entities in HongKong & Guangdong China to expand our international sales with constantly improvement in quality & service, as our products are very demanding in technical process. Furthermore, local market is quite potential for us to explore forward too. What is typical to the area when it comes to the mould manufacturing demand? “China, as a well-known manufacturing country in the world, with matured technologies of mould industry, rich resource of the talents market, convenient logistic services and facilities as well as preferential policies to welcome foreign investment, provide key factors which are crucial to ensure SabriScan will keep up the same pace there as with all customers around the world.” How do you see SabriScans prospects in the markets you work with? “As a leading manufacturer of mould industry in Finland, SabriScan is advanced in quality, technology solution and constant customer service in many countries where our main customers are located. Incorporation company in China is a big step but wise in cost and quality control and will also improve our capacity to meet the requirement of our fast growing sales.” How do you see a Finnish company? “Finnish company in my experience is definitely the fair company to work for. Equality, respect and non-bureaucracy prevail. Learning and personal development are highly encouraged and of course, every activity is in compliance with regulation.” How has the company welcomed new foreign colleagues? “I probably have the right chemistry with most of the Finns, so I feel welcome in SabriScan and I already have had a long time to get used to the unique character’s of Finns. Somehow, I like it and respect the way how they are. Also, my open communication style and smile help the Finns to connect with me. What is the most important “value added” you bring to SabriScan? “I think my HR management experience is really a plus for this job, as a HR professional who has been working more than 10 years in a multicultural environment, besides providing solution in the organization structure, compensation and benefit schemes etc, I am proficient to initiate company management system in a start-up level too. My communication skills allow me to build up good connections easily with internal and external partners.” What are your hobbies? “I enjoy cross training with weights, Zumba and yoga in most of my spare time. I also play piano, paint and do handcrafts and gardening. Horse riding is something I would like to keep going when I am still in a good mobility condition - if only I can find time.”
